Hoppers: Knowing Means Belonging

ASSEMBLY OBJECTIVE

This assembly uses clips from “Hoppers” to help pupils explore what it means to belong and why it matters to know people by name. Pupils will be encouraged to reflect on how they can help others feel welcome. Through considering relevant Bible passages, pupils will explore the belief that God knows each person by name and values them.

Hoppers: Why Rules?

ASSEMBLY OBJECTIVE

This assembly uses clips from “Hoppers” to explore why rules exist and why they matter. Pupils will be encouraged to reflect on how rules can feel restrictive but are often necessary, and why different situations may need different rules. They will explore how rules can help keep people safe, create fairness, and enable communities to live well together. Through considering a relevant Bible passage, pupils will explore the Christian belief that good rules are built upon the underlying principle of love.

Mercy: Can Justice be Truly Fair?

  • develop some understanding of human justice systems
  • explore whether human justice systems can be completely fair
  • consider the strengths and weaknesses of potentially using artificial intelligence in the judicial process
  • understand the biblical concept of ultimate divine judgement
